Hello! Why I do what I do! It’s a long story, but here we go!! I created my business because after a really severe, life-threatening road traffic accident in Australia, when I was hit by a car cycling to work, I was really ill, had a wrist operation, post-traumatic stress and had to rehabilitate to get better. Prior to the accident I had suffered from yet more back problems, prolapsed discs in my spine and I started Pilates and it was really helping. After the accident and seeing how much it has helped me personally, I decided to open a studio to help others with their back, body and mind. So I had very successful six figure business & studios for 16 years in Hertfordshire, after life hitting rock bottom after divorce I decided to set a goal of moving to Dorset, we re-located 9 years ago. Now I have an online studio on zoom.
Having personally experienced prolapsed discs and spinal stenosis in my spine, whiplash, spinal injections, MRI scans, seeing the consultant, physios, osteopaths and chiropractors, it has been amazing to find an exercise technique which helps me manage my back and look after my back, body and mind on a daily basis, to me this is a really exciting thing and it’s as important to me as brushing my teeth!!
I am absolutely passionate about teaching other people to discover this amazing exercise technique Particularly to alleviate pain, and really help you to live your lifestyle that you really want, whether that is playing golf, gardening, going on your favourite walks but most importantly enjoying life how you want to enjoy. Pilates it is a tool to create that. I have a formula I teach and it is really effective.
I graduated from the University of Brighton with a degree in sports science and have always really enjoyed the sports and psychology elements of that, including mindset and happiness, in particular positive affirmations and how this can help people in their body and mind, so I incorporate meditation, mindset, positive affirmations into every single class & one to one programme. This makes the time fly when my clients come to their programme or class membership.
I love teaching, I’ve now been teaching over 25 years.. Pilates takes practice, my clients are relieved that I’m only encouraging them to practice six minutes a day! Every week I say have you practised your six minutes?!
love Bev
