What is your stress costing you right now?
Stress is "the health epidemic of the 21st century," according to the World Health Organization. Forty-three percent of all adults suffer adverse health effects from stress, and seventy-five to ninety percent of all physician office visits are for stress-related ailments and complaints. Reviews
Simple & easy to use
When I was a nurse I was stressed and I never knew what to do about it and I didn't have the tools or knowledge. In this book there is both. What Beverley and Janey are asking you to do is evidence based, always a plus for NHS staff and each tool only takes a minute, so simple to implement and I know they work because I've done some of them myself. I highly recommend this book and will be recommending it to nurses who i know .. thank you both for helping

Perfect Gift For Those Working In Healthcare
I bought this book for a number of friends who work for the NHS. It's a lovely gift to share with those that you know may struggle with stress and chaos at work. It's packed with advice, tips and exercises that will help the reader navigate their busy, hectic work day. Would thoroughly recommend.

Foreword
“Wow! This is such a great book for nurses who are looking for quick and effective strategies to alleviate stress. Time can fly during a shift and with the constant need to multi- task and put the needs of our patients before our own we forget to look after ourselves. I currently work as a senior mental health practitioner, and I’m regularly exposed to traumatic stories, and situations. I know too well how dif- ficult it can sometimes be to switch off after a shift.
I am currently leading on a wellbeing project for staff within my own service. My employer and the team always try to consider the wellbeing of ourselves as well as the wellbeing of our patients. There has certainly been a shift in views since I began my nursing career 18 years ago. We have ‘wellbeing sessions’ and we are encouraged to work with our patients outside, away from the clinical environ- ment. I also like to share with my colleagues the recent benefits of becoming alcohol free – wine, it turns out wasn’t the most effective coping strategy for me at the end of a busy shift!
The advice, strategies and exercises in this book are ex- cellent and I’m certainly going to recommend these to my colleagues as well as continue to use the techniques during my working day.
A great read, perfect for busy nurses.”
