Stress to Calm in 7 Minutes for Lawyers

My latest podcast episode is out now!

In this episode I’m joined by Anna Illingworth of Rowberry Morris, a solicitor with 30 years + experience specialising in Employment Law and Contentious Probate

We talk about how stress manifests itself; affecting sleep, ruminating on work and overwhelm. Discussing the different tools that Anna has found help to overcome and manage stress and build resilience, productivity. Choosing happiness and solutions over staying stressed.

Anna was the inspiration behind my latest book Stress to Calm in 7 Minutes for Lawyers.

Stress takes its toll and having tools to help manage it is invaluable – thank you Anna both for joining me on the podcast and for the inspiration.

Episode is out on 29th November

Chronic fatigue management

During this episode, Bev shares her chronic fatigue journey and where she's at now, what the causes have been (multiple), what's helped her and she did a Q&A answering several of your questions that came in on instagram, thank you for those.

This episode includes a 3 minute movement meditation to calm the mind and boost your energy and mood.

This episode was inspired by Anna Marsh, after being interviewed on the Chronic Fatigue and Burnout Recovery Podcast, Anna asked me the question: Do you have specific Mindfulness Pilates classes for chronic fatigue recovery? At the time I didn't but said was open to it, although regularly teach clients who have an ME or chronic fatigue or long covid diagnosis, but good news, thanks to this question, there are now free taster classes on zoom for Chronic fatigue management Mindfulness Pilates classes, regular classes and 121 programmes.

Thank you Anna for this inspiration.

There are maximum 5 clients in the beginners and taster classes, maximum 10 clients in classes so that they are high quality, tailored to you, there is individual attention and you can work at both the right level for you personally as well as work in a good alignment and technique.

Let me know if you tune in and how it helps you

How to improve your flexibility. Stretching is an important part of reducing back pain to feel good. They have to be the right stretches for you & level. Today was over the moon to be included as Pilates expert in this article in live science written by Catherine Renton. Love the research she included. (My sports science side of me loves that) Love how she also included my 6 minutes mindfulness Pilates tip before breakfast! Basically practice 6 minutes Pilates before breakfast everyday. You can read the article here on how to improve your flexibility

This weeks guest is Bharti Dhir, the author of a memoir called Worth, which was published on 9th March this year. Her story is about her dual African-Asian heritage and being abandoned at birth. Bharti was born in Uganda and adopted by a Sikh  Punjabi family.

In Worth she explores the experiences of racism, sexism and prejudicial attitudes towards illegitimacy in the 1960’s.

Bharti’s growing awareness of Angelic and Divine protection and spirituality is also highlighted in Worth.

Bharti moved to the U.K. in 1972 when Idi Amin ordered all Asians to leave Uganda. She moved with her widowed adoptive mother and two brothers and two sisters.

Worth, her memoir, tells of the experiences in the process of leaving Uganda and settling as refugees in the U.K. Bharti’s mother was ordered at gun point to leave her behind as the soldiers believed Bharti was  “one of them” referring to her African roots.

Bharti relates how she coped with health conditions such as Lupus and EB.

This memoir is a rollercoaster of experiences that bring our  sense of Worth up and those that bring our experiences down. The essential message is never give up on your dreams despite any negative experience.

Bharti fulfilled her dream of being a mother by adopting a little girl. She now works as a social worker in Child Protection.
